SUMMARY

The drug susceptibilities of 60 Vibrio cholerae O1 El Tor strains isolated from patients in Vietnam during the twelve years (1991 – 2002) were investigated. Both of the susceptibility tests Kirby-Bauer and minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) showed that sixty isolates were completely sensitive to ampicillin, ciprofloxacin and chloramphenicol. The most finding by MIC test were some of the isolated organisms moderately sensitive to tetracyclin (11,7%), co-trimoxazol (20%), erythromycin (11,7%) and 75% resistant strains to erythromycin; these were isolated from Quảng Trị, Thừa Thiên-Huế, An Giang provinces.
