Abstract

Few peer based inteventions have been done in Vietnam and features and roles of commercial sex peer educators (CSPE) have not clearly delineated.

In a project dealing with HIV transmission via sexual contact in Soctrang, although CSPE are in low educational attainment, poor and low-income life, they were very active in reaching, communicating and educating commercial sex workers (CSW) in the commune. Their participation could be maintained and well done if stable financial support form local government and international organizations.
